Matt & Stephanie came all the way from Seattle to have their wedding just outside of Austin at the amazing Studios at Fischer! The wedding party had a blast all day long despite the incredible rainstorms! The sky cleared just as the sun was going down and we made our way outside to take in the wildflowers. We loved Stephanie & Matt’s sharp sense of humor and ability to roll with the raindrops!
A huge thank you to The Studios at Fischer, a creatively inspired hill country oasis just a bit south of the the wedding capital of Texas – Dripping Springs. Fischer is quickly becoming the new place to tie the knot in Central Texas, and for good reason. The landscapes here are peaceful and far enough away from Austin that you feel grounded to the earth in a way that’s hard to put into words.
Congratulations Matt & Stephanie!
Rick and Alexis were married at the newly restored Brazos Hall in the heart of downtown Austin. Brazos Hall is old school Austin, hip, and full of history. This turn of the century two story warehouse is filled with beautiful long leaf pine, huge ceilings, a really old elevator, and even a trap door leading to the basement below. The rennovation was completed in 2014 and now Brazos Hall is a stunning wedding venue with a beautiful 4,000 square foot rooftop deck. This space was the perfect setting for Rick and Alexis’ outdoor wedding ceremony. Even the Chuppah was custom designed and lined with birch and hundreds of dangling tea lights! The skyline at dusk was a beautiful sight and I can’t think of a better backdrop for a downtown Austin wedding.
We had a blast working with Rick and Alexis and can’t say enough about the whole experience. In fact, the entire wedding party was super laid back and all about having fun. These two were up for anything so we decided to take a quick trip around the block for some street portraits at one of Federico’s famous “Til Death Do Us Part” murals. We even saw Bill Murray walking down Sixth Street – so that was cool (We really just pretended we saw Bill Murray which is debatably almost as good on your wedding day. If you really saw Bill Murray you would inevitably end up in a conversation, he might offer you to buy you a drink? You wouldn’t be able to turn it down. You may even be really late to your own reception – who knows) Regardless we had fun and made it back just in time to get the party started. Rick and Alexis definitely made Brazos Hall their own, complete with a swanky lounge area, mariachi band, pinatas, and of course, more cowbell! The Eclipse Band really brought the energy and kept everyone dancing most of the night! It was great to catch up with these two again and join the celebration on their wedding day.
If you are looking for a wedding venue in downtown Austin that can host a monster party and is super close to Bill Murray’s hangouts look no further! Weddings at Brazos Hall have it all!

It’s summer in the city, and the evenings here in Austin take on a magical glow. This sneak peek from our Austin engagement session with Ciara and John had summer written all over it, punctuated with warm, sunny skies and colorful backdrops. After some urban graffiti and a trip down South Congress, we found our way to this great spot along the green & shady Barton Creek, and got this photo just as the sun retreated behind the horizon. Austin just knows how to do summer right!
Erin and Charles had a gorgeous Vineyards at Chappel Lodge wedding on a cool spring evening in Austin, TX. The festivities began with a intimate ceremony under two majestic oak trees. The Live Oak is the unofficial king of trees in Central Texas and you would be hard pressed to find a more beautiful spot to be married outdoors in Texas than underneath one. The ceremony ended and magic hour began. It was refreshing to see Erin and Charles really savor the moment and take some time for each other. The light was magical and the weather was perfect as they strolled around the grounds of the venue. It’s easy to forget that you are really close to downtown Austin, when you are surrounded by acres of rustic Texas countryside. Soon champagne was poured, a fireplace was lit, and Erin and Charles shared their first dance just as the last bit of blue faded from the sky. The band kept most of their guests dancing though the night. What a perfect evening and simply classic Texas wedding. Congratulations Erin and Charles!
